GHGA Data Portal Update: Release 3.0

GHGA is pleased to announce the release of Data Portal version 3.0, a significant update that improves both the user experience and the technical foundation of the platform. This release not only introduces new features, but also lays important groundwork for future development by focusing on the improvement of developer experience and robustness of services.

With version 3.0, GHGA is also moving to a regular release cycle, enabling more predictable updates and continuous improvements over time.

Key updates in this release include:

  • Updated User Interface
    The portal interface has been fully reimplemented using Angular, resulting in a more modern, modular architecture that improves performance, accessibility, and ease of use — and enables us to roll out new features more quickly.
  • Enhanced Role Management
    Users can now hold multiple roles within the portal, allowing greater flexibility in how data access and responsibilities are managed.
  • Usage Analytics
    The introduction of anonymous usage tracking will support ongoing improvements by providing insight into how the platform is used.
  • Improved Stability and Maintainability
    Backend infrastructure has been significantly updated to improve system robustness, observability, and maintainability.

This release lays the foundation for continued enhancements to the Data Portal. As GHGA moves toward a regular release schedule, users can expect more frequent updates aimed at improving access to human genomic data in a secure and scalable way.
