GHGA Data Portal - Archive Phase

The German resource for efficient genome research.

GHGA Data Portal

GHGA Archive is the next step in the development of the GHGAs portfolio. Evolving from the GHGA Metadata Catalog it is a big step towards building a secure national omics data infrastructure that provides a framework for the use of human genome data for research purposes while preventing data misuse.

What is the GHGA Data Portal - Archive Phase?

Launched on August, 1 2024, the Archive phase of the GHGA Data Portal allows users to access data stored within GHGA Archive through a fully integrated data access management system. It also implements two-factor authentication via Life Science Login for users.

The datasets within are annotated following the latest version of the GHGA Metadata Model, which is compatible with the metadata model of the EGA.

How can I get access to the listed datasets?

Users can request access to data through the GHGA data portal. After browsing datasets of interest, the "Request Access" button  will direct you to a data access request form. The data access committee will review all submitted request and respond accordingly.

For further details on how to access data, please refer to the Data Access documentation.

How can I use GHGA for depositing my own data?

Our ongoing efforts concentrate on data upload processes. Currently handled by GHGA data stewards, data upload by external users is not yet possible. We are looking forward to launching a submitter portal that allows GHGA to accept data from external submitters and GHGA users to upload data themselves in a future release.
