Major Feature Release for the GHGA Data Portal

GHGA has taken a major step towards FAIRer sharing of human omics data in Germany. After announcing the completion of our first release candidate (GHGA 0.9) in January, and an extensive testing period, we are proud to launch the GHGA Archive phase of the GHGA Data Portal. New features allow users to securely access data stored within GHGA Data Portal through a fully integrated data access management system, also implementing two-factor authentication via Life Science Login for our users.

The first datasets included in GHGA Data Portal, and available for secondary research stem from the NCT/DKFZ/DKTK MASTER program. The data includes 62 WES/WGS and RNA sequencing data sets of 1310 patients suffering from 20 different rare cancer types. As part of ongoing refinements, additional studies will be added. Until this processing has been completed, we are not yet seeking external submissions. We are looking forward to launching a submitter portal that allows GHGA to accept data from external submitters and GHGA users to upload data themselves in a future release.

The new release can be found under data.ghga.de. Documentation on how to best use the new features are available here
