Tübingen becomes second operational GHGA Data Hub

At GHGA, we develop a federated data storage approach to ensure secure and efficient management of genome data. Our data hubs, located at leading universities and research institutions across Germany, serve as data processors, providing essential storage and computing resources for genome research. These hubs, located in Heidelberg, Tübingen, Dresden, Cologne, Munich, Kiel, and Berlin, are vital for the operation of our research platform. Each site will guarantee the highest level of data security, utilising advanced encryption and adhering to zero trust principles.

Since the launch of the GHGA Data Portal in August, with the Heidelberg data hub storing the first dataset, we have successfully onboarded Tübingen as an operational data hub - marking significant progress towards our goal of fully federated data storage.

Additionally, GHGA has been cited as a data repository for the first time in the Nature Communications publication of the new uploaded PET/LIT study, which monitors patient-specific ctDNA variants in melanoma patients undergoing immune checkpoint inhibition.

Looking ahead, we will continue to expand our federated data infrastructure by fully onboarding the other data hubs and enhancing our capabilities to support large-scale genomic research.
